Whistling Well Farm opens on August 31 and will be open every day from 9-6 until October 31.
You can also come see us at the St.Paul Farmers’ Market (Downtown) Saturdays from 7 am to 1 pm and Sundays from 8 am to 1 pm starting August 31st.

Apple Varieties:
First Kiss
First Kiss is a premium apple with striking characteristics — it features a beautiful scarlet red color; it has a lively, tart flavor; and it is ready to harvest at the very start of autumn.

SweeTango®
SweeTango® is a crisp and sweet apple with notes of citrus, honey and spice. It’s perfectly crunchy and juicy. SweeTango is delicious all on its own, but also tastes amazing in recipes like salads, apple crisp, applesauce, and alongside meats like pork chops.

Zestar!®
Zestar! apples are an early season apple with a light, crisp texture and a hint of brown sugar flavor. They are amazing on their own as well as in baking recipes like pies and are excellent in sauces.

Chestnut Crab
Taste: The Chestnut crabapple is larger most crabapples and packs a lot of flavor for its size. This fist-sized fruit is 2-4 inches in diameter- perfect for kids and taking on-the go. The coarse yellow flesh is sweet-tart with slight nutty flavor. Hints of pear, honey, orange and vanilla may be noticed. The tiny apples ripen in September with light yellow skin blushed with orange-red. Chestnut crabapple makes wonderful cider and brandy.
Availability/Season: Mid-Late August through September
Applications: Great for eating out of hand, and holds up well in both sweet and savory dishes. Their high pectin content make them prefect for making jams and jellies. They also make delicious cider or brandy.

Honeycrisp
The Honeycrisp apple is aromatic and sweet as honey and has a light, airy explosive juicy texture. Simply fabulous eaten on its own, they are also wonderful in pies, sauces and great for juicing.

Haralson
The Haralson apple is large, firm, and red. They are crisp and juicy, having a tart flavor. They’re great for eating, cooking, and are an excellent choice for baking pies and crisps.
